On 6 December, China celebrated the first batch of Perfusor Compact Plus produced at the B. Braun Suzhou plant, a strategic milestone for locally manufactured products in China. The Hospital Care Division of B. Braun China strives to achieve Strategy 2020 goals by strengthening system partnership and leveraging on the competitive advantage of localised production to reach the target revenue for Compact Plus in the next few years, and become the market leader in automated infusion in China.

Mr. Stanley Su, CEO and Managing Director, B. Braun Greater China; Mrs. Shirley Kong, Managing Director, B. Braun Avitum China; Mr. Zhenglong Xu, Deputy Director, Suzhou FDA; and Mr. Simon Chen, General Manager, Hospital Care Division China, congratulated the team for the milestone achieved. “The Compact Plus project is very significant for B. Braun China,” said Mr. Stanley Su who emphasised the three ‘firsts’ of the project. “It is the first active medical device produced at B. Braun China; the first product simultaneously launched in China and in other regions globally; and the first project to be completed ahead of schedule." Approximately 40 guests attended the celebration, including colleagues from B. Braun Medical China and B. Braun Avitum China, officers from the Suzhou FDA, key opinion leaders from hospitals, and distributors.

“The project is an excellent example of collaboration across all divisions. Compact Plus is assembled at B. Braun Suzhou. B. Braun China is responsible for its commercial sale and the after-sales service is provided by B. Braun Avitum China,” said Yi Ding, Project Manager.

Mr. Stanley Su and Mrs. Shirley Kong symbolically completed the production of the first batch of Compact Plus by putting on the ‘final touch’ of attaching a label on the package. Mr. Su then passed the Compact Plus to distributors who have already placed their orders.

The ceremony concluded with production line tour for the guests-of-honour led by Mr Su. During the tour, engineers demonstrated the sophisticated technique and design of Compact Plus which enables ease-of-use, and ensures the same high quality as products manufactured in Germany.
