B. Braun brings Hari Raya cheer to 126 orphans, underprivileged children

B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. [Company registration number: 197401001922 (19051-H)] celebrated Hari Raya with 126 orphans and underprivileged from the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Kesayangan Pulau Pinang on 17 July 2017.

Dr Juergen Tertel, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, B. Braun Asia Pacific, Mr Ismail, Vice-President of the B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. [Company registration number: 197401001922 (19051-H)] (BMI) Union, Mr Zamree, Secretary of the BMI Union, Mr Graham Rice, Head of Procurement, B. Braun Asia Pacific, and BMI employees were present for the celebration at the Rumah Anak Kesayangan in Bukit Jambul, Penang.

To kick off the event, Dr Tertel briefly introduced B. Braun and shared the company vision of ‘protecting and improving the health of people around the world’. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organisation for giving B. Braun the opportunity to visit and celebrate the special occasion with the children. Tuan Haji Mohamad Bin Dalet, Head of the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Kesayangan Pulau Pinang, thanked BMI for the support and contribution.

The children, ranging from 5 to 17 years, had an enjoyable time with games and fun quizzes organised by the BMI employees. Dr Tertel, Mr Ismail, Mr Zamree, and BMI management representatives presented individual goodie bags consisting of new clothing and daily necessities to each child. Highlight of the event included a nasyid performance by Putera Harapan, a performance group formed by the older children.

To conclude the event, the children and care-givers were treated to a makan-makan with festive dishes such as chicken and beef rendang, ketupat, lemang, and satay. All guests were entertained with Raya songs by BMI singers during the buffet for more festive cheer.
