B. Braun China forms system partnership with Henan Hospital

President and Chief Executive Officer of B. Braun Greater China, Stanley Su, recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Henan Provincial People’s Hospital (HPPH).

According to the agreement, both parties will establish a comprehensive system partnership in the areas of new equipment, new technology application, education and training, clinical research, academic exchange, and talent development.

As one of the leading medical device suppliers and medical system solution providers in China, B. Braun had several rounds of in-depth communication with HPPH. Both sides agreed to cooperate in the fields of nursing care, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, urinary surgery and medical equipment management. The agreement aimed to promote the research and development of new products, enable their application in medical treatment to further improve medical quality and services in the country.

In 2018, B. Braun and HPPH plan to jointly launch more than 20 professional trainings, academic exchanges and clinical research activities. Both sides believe that, through the comprehensive system partnership cooperation, they are able to better serve Chinese patients and make substantial contributions to the country’s “Healthy China” strategy.

China has always prioritized the health of its people in its policy agenda, through improving full-life-cycle medical and health services to people in the country. In the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), the central government proposed comprehensive reforms of the medical and public healthcare system, promoting separation of treatments and medicines, and establishing a tiered medical service and modern hospital management system that covers all urban and rural areas.

The new “Healthy China” strategy requires public hospitals to not only to improve efficiency of medical treatment but also to push forward the primary hospitals’ development in technology and capabilities through the establishment of medical treatment alliance.
