Anna Maria Braun visits Shanghai hospitals to strengthen system partnership and collaboration

Ms Anna Maria Braun, President, B. Braun Asia Pacific, and Management Board Member, B. Braun Melsungen AG, visited three hospitals in Shanghai on 7 May 2018.

Accompanied by Mr Stanley Su, President & CEO of B. Braun Greater China, and B. Braun China management team members, the B. Braun delegation held talks with hospital representatives on the establishment of system partnership and collaboration to improve the quality of medical treatments and patient satisfaction in China.

After first visiting the Huashan Dialysis Centre, accompanied by Shirley Kong, Managing Director, B. Braun Avitum China, the B. Braun team met Professor Mao Ying, Vice-President of Huashan Hospital, and the Vice-Director of the Neurosurgery Department. Both parties exchanged thoughts on the future trends of neurosurgery in China, opportunities for collaboration in neuro-intervention field and innovative ideas in clinical technologies.

Professor Mao commended the clinical services provided by the Aesculap team and Aesculap products. He expressed hope that B. Braun and Huashan Hospital can collaborate further in professional trainings, product development, and clinical research.

The next stop is the Shanghai Children’s Medical Center (SCMC), hosted by Professor Zhao Liebin, Vice-President of SCMC, Professor Lu Hong, Director of SCMC Nursing Department, and Professor Zeng Hui, Vice-Director of SCMC Nursing Department.

Professor Zhao congratulated B. Braun China’s Hospital Care team for winning first prize in the “Sharing Expertise” category of the B. Braun Innovation Award 2017, with the Pediatrics Safety Infusion Project. Professor Lu then introduced the extraordinary achievements of the Safety Infusion System Project in SCMC.

During the visit, Ms. Braun shared B. Braun’s vision to protect and improve the health of people around the world, and commitment to continuously improve product quality and patients’ satisfaction by implementing the “system partnership” strategy. A simple donation ceremony was held to donate prize money from the B. Braun Innovation Award to SCMC for the purchase of electronic media facilities for the hospital’s infusion room to educate patients on safe infusion practices.

For the final stop, Ms Braun and the China OPM team visited the Caoyang Community Health Service Centre. Liu Yilei, Party Secretary, Caoyang Community Health Service Centre, showed the delegates around the out-patient building, and arranged a special visit to the hospital’s special Diabetes Treatment Hut. Ms. Braun showed strong interest in methods of Chinese traditional medicine to prevent foot complication due to diabetes.

Mr Stanley Su, emphasized that B. Braun is able to provide comprehensive services to community health centers, and moving forward, B. Braun will partner with the centres to improve the quality of products and services, and patients’ education.
